I just heard back from the agent who requested a partial. They passed. Said the story was flat.
NANO is not going well. I’ve been so stressed and busy I haven’t really worked on it at all.
Bad day today, but hopefully tomorrow will be a good one.
Nano stopped for me too, but I’m determined to get to 50,000 by Nov 30 at midnight. I’ll have a marathon on the 30th. Har!
Good job on sending out the manuscript, Rachel. I still haven’t written past chapter One on my novel. You’re way ahead of me. 🙂
Hi Rach!
Well today is tomorrow, and I hope it is a better one for you 🙂
Good luck on continuing Nano, do it when it feels right. And on the agenting/novel thing, you have to trust me: it’s subjective and it’s about finding “the one”…and unlike searching for men, “the one” can actually be found in agent world! (LOL).
For example, my friends or people at TNBW sometimes say to me, “S,o are the agents breaking down your door?” And can honestly say: “umm…NO.” Do you want to know my stats Rach? 51 REJECTIONS, around 30 no-replies, and only 3 requests for Fulls, one of which was already a rejection.
Those stats are not meant to discourage you, it’s mean to keep you going. It’s meant to make querying 3 agents a day or ten agents a week as routine as your morning cereal…
Okay?
I believe in you girlfriend! (and yes, I just called you girlfriend, how lame 😉 )
*hugs*

I’ve been reading your blog, your stories, your personality pieces and holy cow, you are going way too fast down the road of life. Slow down, smell the roses, kiss softly, enjoy….you don’t have to get published by the time you are 27 nor do you have to find the right guy by the time you are twenty five. There will be a “Ben” around the corner but hopefully he won’t be a spoiled rich kid like in “Twenty-five”.
Bob
Hey Bob. Don’t worry, I’m not aiming to get published by the time I’m 27 or by any age really. I just want to be published SOMEDAY. As far as the right guy, I’ll only say if you were in my shoes, I’m sure you’d feel the same way I do. As far as going too fast down the road of life, that’s really the problem. Life is going by too fast and I’m not EXPERIENCING anything.
