My mother and I went to the charity book sale at our local library today. They were selling tote bags for $10 and you stuff said tote to the gills with as many books as you can. So for $10 I got 18 books! Score!

I’m very excited to start tackling this stack, but I do have a couple of other stacks of books waiting to be read as well, so who knows when I’ll get to them all. I’d really love to hear everyone’s opinion- have you read any of the books on this list? Did you enjoy them?
Gone With the Wind!!!!! (That is all.) 😉
I thought of you when I saw it on the shelf, and my promise that I would read it!
Gone with the Wind is one of my favorite books of all time!!! The Pilot’s Wife is also really good – that book turned me on to Anita Shrive. She also has several other really good ones to choose from, even though that one is still my favorite. Let me know if you read The Reader and what you think – that’s one I have on my list, bit just haven’t gotten to it yet.
I remember trying to read it (Gone with the Wind) once, but I have no idea how old I was. I think I must have been young because I couldn’t get through it. I’m hoping I can learn to appreciate it now that I’m older. I wasn’t going to get the Pilot’s Wife, but some lady beside me just started raving about how good it was, so I figured why not? I’ll definitely let you know how I like all of them!
I’ve read “The Pilot’s Wife’ and ‘Possession’. I liked both, but I did struggle through (and at times skipped) the poetry sections of ‘Possession’.
I’ve been wanting to read Possession forever. I LOVE the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow, so I’m hoping the book is even better, but I’m pretty daft when it comes to poetry, so I may be skipping those parts, too!
Doctor Zhivago and Love in the Time of Cholera are friggen great!
Lady Chatterley’s Lover is an interesting choice. I keep trying to explain my opinion about that book, and then keep deleting the sentences. I’ll leave it at “not my favorite of its genre.”
And as for Gone with the Wind and The Pilgrim’s Progress…I’ve read both enough times I hope to never have to read them again. That’s not commentary on my like or dislike of either…just…for me, I’ve read them enough.
Let us know on GoodReads what you think of them as you go along!
Dr. Zhivago and Love in the Time of Cholera are two that I’m really excited about, but probably would never have thought to buy if I hadn’t seen them at this sale. Pilgrim’s Progress I’ve wanted to read for a while, ever since I read Little Women when I was 10! I’ll be keeping track and posting reviews on GoodReads, I promise!
